Meet our gold medalist

Congrats to our our first ever Gold Medalists.
Meet our gold medalist in our inaugural Gold Medalist event. These MOSA members have served the group….

Esther Muñoz

Born in Spring Village, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Esther Muñoz began her journey at Old Harbour Primary and later attended St. Jago High School, where she developed a passion for sports — excelling in Netball and Track & Field. She proudly represented her school at national competitions and participated in the 15th Commonwealth Games in 1966, receiving the baton from Prince Philip. Her early teaching roles and church involvement solidified a deep commitment to education, which led her to Mico Teachers’ College.

Over the years, she taught at schools across Jamaica and the U.S., introduced sports programs, and inspired students through cultural and academic activities. Now based in Brooklyn, she serves as Director at Practical Learning Center and remains active in alumni and community organizations, including MOSA (since 1990!) and UJAA. Her dedication to service and youth development continues to shape the lives of those around her.

At MOSA, she has served as the secretary of the association, member of the hospitality, fundraising/finance and journal committee.
